Allegra is our Customer Service Supervisor / Outside Sales Coordinator. She’s a self-proclaimed California girl who grew up in San Francisco but most recently lived in San Diego and LA. Allegra moved to MN with her fiancée and has yet to experience a Minnesota-winter—we’ll let you know how she does. Allegra enjoys riding her bike, indie music bloggin’, making jewelry and watching House Hunters in her free time.
Annie is our Accounts Payable & Receivable Coordinator. She’s joined team Sojos with over 13 years of experience working in accounting and administrative roles. When Annie’s not working or doing school work (she’ll graduate in March!), she enjoys spending time with her family—wife Rhyan and their three kids Daymin, Jordyn and Ryley. Her fur family includes pups Kato, Avery, Harley and Jazmyn and a feline friend named Emit. Talk about a full house! Annie and crew love taking advantage of MN weather and spend their free time camping, swimming, biking and anything else outdoors.
Brandon is our Facilities Engineer Supervisor. He’s been a mechanic for over 20 years, working in steel fabrication and building maintenance. He and his wife have two teenage children—Mariah, 13 and Dylan, 15—and two pups, Tucker and Bailey. Brandon likes to spend time cruising the streets on his motorcycle or boating on one of the many Minnesota lakes with his family.
Cal is our Production Manager at both Sojos facilities. He has a long-ranging background in food production, and even worked for another company manufacturing pet food. He’s a grandfather to 5 and father to 2, along with his wife Nola. Cal enjoys cooking—mainly because it leads to eating! He also spends his free time in the Minnesota outdoors, hunting, fishing, biking and hiking.
Darrick wears many hats, but primarily he is our Inventory Coordinator. Pet-dad to one rambunctious dog, Digby (who commutes to Sojos HQ with him) and two carnivorous cats, he has a love for organized efficiency, bean counting and TPS reports (he’s working on training Digby to file said TPS reports).
Eric is the SW Territory Sales Rep. and lives with his wife Ida in Redondo Beach, CA. They’re fur family includes two black lab mixes—Sofie and Fagiolo—as well as two cats—a Silver Tabby named Julius and a Brown Torty named Artimus. He’s a self-admitted ‘foodie,’ enjoys trying new food and sunny California weather.
Gus is our Bakery Lead. He’s worked in both a food service and warehouse environment—even clocking time in a bakery. His pup, Brody, is a Lab/Great Dane mix. He loves Sojos and all the treats he gets both in-office and goodie-bags at home. When Gus isn’t baking dog treats, he enjoys the local brewery scene and working out.
Joe is our Quality Compliance Specialist. While most of his family lives in Wisconsin, Joe moved to Minneapolis with his wife, new son Elias and mutt-mix rescue pup Sage after spending 3 1/2 years living in Portland, OR. He enjoys all things bike related and is an avid outdoorsman—camping, fishing, hiking, disc golfing—he loves it all. But don’t mention the Vikings to him. He’s a die-hard Packer fan through and through.
Julie is our S Central Territory Sales Rep. She volunteers, fosters, sponsors, transfers and even sews dog coats for the Doberman Rescue of MN—where she adopted her 9-year-old Doberman, Mya. Her cat, DC makes up the rest of her fur family. Julie is based in Colorado and enjoys hiking and cycling the mountains and spending time with her niece and family.
Kerry is our Packaging Lead and came to Sojos after working in quality control labs for the past 15 years. Kerry likes to be kept on her toes and loves that she’s never bored working at Sojos! She’s in the process of buying a home in Minneapolis to share with her fur family—which includes 3 cats, Lucky Lou, Fiona and Osiris. When she’s not spending time with her animals, Kerry busts out the binoculars to bird watch and tends her aquarium.
Kira is our Marketing and PR Specialist. She recently adopted a boisterous Sheepdog/Spaniel mix named Bosley. When not running around chasing Bos, she enjoys hiking the mountains of Missoula, MT, where her family lives or biking the San Francisco hills, where she used to live. She is an avid metal-smith and welds all kinds of creations in her jewelry studio and can cook you up some vegan cuisine that doesn’t taste like cardboard.
Laurie is our N Central Territory Sales Rep. After recently losing her sweet senior dog, Dorsey, Laurie’s on the search for a rescue pup to add to her family—which includes her husband Steve. She lives in Wisconsin and is an avid eater of all foods—especially BBQ! Not to mention her hometown was the birthplace of the hamburger.
Leroy is our Controller and has been in accounting for over 20 years. He enjoys spending time with his family, which includes fiancé Kim, daughters Samantha, Jessica and Adrianna and son Cody. When he’s not cheering on his kids at school events or counseling them on the ways of the world, he enjoys the outdoors, music, golf, basketball and football. He’s a MN Vikings fan, but the Sojos’ Packer fans don’t hold it against him.
Lisa is our Human Resources Manager and she’s been working in Human Resources and Management for more than 10 years. Originally from the Iron Range, Lisa moved to Minneapolis with her four rescue pups, Autumn, Bella, Chewie, and Oscar fall of 2015. When she’s not chasing around her four-legged crew, she enjoys live music, museums, drawing and reading. Oh, and she’s a HUGE Twins fan!
Mark is our Director of Operations. He came to us from a dessert company and has more than 20 years of experience in manufacturing, operations and engineering. Mark enjoys spending time with his family, wife Debbie and children Halley, Matt, Alec, Bryce and his black lab Brandi. He takes advantage of the Minnesota outdoors, hunting, fishing and boating in his free time.
Monte is the Freeze-Drier Lead and has been with Sojos since 2013. He loves food; he’s worked in the food industry for over 20 years and loves to cook for his family. Monte has four kids, ranging from 1 to 14 in age. He spends as much time with his family as possible and enjoys tubing, bowling and even billiards from time to time.
Nancy is our NE Territory Sales Rep. and is a true New Yorker. She lives there with her rescued King Charles Cavalier, Charlie. Nancy has years of experience working in the pet industry, including work in the natural and holistic sector. She also fights fires—as a volunteer firefighter for the past 15 years. She enjoys yoga and is an active volunteer with many rescue groups.
Nik is our Quality Manager. When not working, she spends her time at home with her husband Adam and their 3 rescue dogs Murphy, Lily and Santo. She loves landscaping, gardening, and working on DIY home improvement projects. A transplant from Wisconsin, Nik loves the changing seasons of the Midwest, but mostly Fall as it means cooler temperatures, falling leaves and most of all football. On Sundays you will find her wearing Green and Gold doing what she loves most…cheering on the Green Bay Packers!
Paul, our NW Territory Sales Rep, bikes to work every day in the rain, shine, sleet or snow. He’s truly local and calls NE Mpls home, along with his two cats Einstein and Chaos. He studied music technology and previously worked for a custom trumpet maker. He loves everything outdoors, especially mountain biking and camping.
Sam is the SE Territory Sales Rep. and before she joined the Sojos Sales Team, she owned a pet store in Arizona, where she sold nothing but the healthiest of pet products. She recently packed up and moved to Florida, where she now resides with her admittedly spoiled “fur-kid”, Dasee. She’s always said, ‘why have them if you can’t spoil them?’ This is the first time her entire family has lived in the same state, so she’s excited about the move. And since Sam is new to Florida, she enjoys spending her free time scoping out dog beaches and taking Dasee exploring.
Scott is the Production Supervisor and joined the Sojos team in 2013. When he’s not covered in dog treat dough, he pals around with Samwich and Pita—his two fur friends (a Yellow Lab and a rescued Boxer). Scott and his wife, Brianna, recently purchased their first home. A true Midwesterner, Scott is an avid snowboarder and enjoys his post as ski patrol at a local ski hill throughout the Minnesota winter. In the summer, you’ll likely find Scott on his long board or taking his crew to the dog park. Oh, and he’s on the Green and Gold side—Go Packers!
Stacy is a Customer Service Represenative. She started with the company in 2013, and found her groove manning the sample machines and recently moved to the front office to join the Customer Service team. When Stacy’s not answering phone calls or placing orders, she spends time at home with her wife Abbey and 6, yes 6, animals. Together they have 2 dogs—Lily (a Golden Retriever) and Kody (a Pit Bull / Cattle Dog mix)— and 4 cats who basically run the household. Stacy’s idea of a good time involves playing with cats and dogs, so she spends the rest of her free time volunteering with a local animal rescue.
Tom is our National Sales Manager and joined the Sojos team with more than 20 years of experience working in the pet biz. When he’s not golfing or enjoying the outdoors, he spends his time grilling for his family, which includes his wife Lisa, his two sons Mark and Stephen and his Cairn Terrier Shadow. Tom is working hard to convince the rest of Sojos that the Chicago Bears are the only team that matters. So far, he hasn’t had much success.
Ward is the Co-Founder of Sojos. He is a passionate advocate for raw foods. He learned the ropes of holistic nutrition for pets at The Uptown Veterinarian, a holistic practice in Minneapolis, MN for two years prior to purchasing Sojos in 1996. Aside from pets, his passions include golf and basketball (when he’s not injured). He also plays keyboards for the Twin City’s cheesiest 80’s cover band, Sweet ‘Stache. Update: Sweet 'Stache now only lives in our memories.
Our beloved Frank was General Manager of Sojos until his sudden passing in October, 2012. We can't bare to remove him from this page because his presence is still felt at Sojos every day. The impact he had on this company and all who work here will be felt forever. We miss you, Frank – and we're going to keep making you proud!
